Garage Apartments On TV

At least two TV families have or had garage apartments.  These typically unnoticed residents have provided the writers with flexibility as their characters transition.

Fonzie's Garage Apartment

The first and most famous garage apartment tenant was "The Fonz".  Arthur Fonzarelli lived in a garage apartment owned by Howard and Marion Cunningham.  I remember seeing Fonzie's apartment on TV when I was in elementary school.  I most remember how the pictures were nailed on all four corners to the slopping walls.  Of course at that time, I had no idea I would be the owner of a profitable web-site called GarageApartments.com.

Below is a picture of the actual house that was used for the filming of the Cunningham's house.  If Fonzie's garage apartment is actually located at this house it must be around back.

The Camden's 7th Heaven Garage Apartment

Another famous garage apartment belongs to the Camden's on the WB's 7th Heaven. The Camden's garage apartment has been featured in many of their episodes. In fact Lucy and Matt had a fight over who was going to move into the garage apartment until Annie decided to rent the apartment to Robbie. In recent episodes the garage apartment provided temporary housing for newlyweds Kevin and Lucy.
